Augier was founded in 1643 by wine merchant Philippe Augier. The house went through several phases of ownership over the centuries since, and has now landed in the hands of Pernod Ricard. 
 
The brand now focuses on terroir-driven styles, with Le Sauvage showcasing ugni blanc grown in Petite Champagne. It is bottled non-chill filtered.
